Alessandro Genovesi, born in Milan, began in theatre where he wrote the play Happy Family which he then adapted to the screen for director Gabriele Salvatores. Since, then, Alessandro has written and directed numerous feature films. 

Regarding his film, Genovesi said "It didn't have to look like a movie, but pieces of life, which, however constructed to be comical, retained the truth. The film is almost entirely shot with a hand camera, almost as if it were shot by a child. Like me".
