Riccardo Milani, born in Rome, is a director and screenwriter. He began as an assistant director to Mario Monicelli, Nanni Moretti and Daniele Luchetti.  He made his directorial debut in 1997 with the film Auguri professore,  for which he was nominated Best New Director.

On Like a Cat on the Highway, Milani says: [This film] talks about the possibility of facing directly those who are far from us for social class, culture or nationality. By becoming part of a situation with contrasting aspects, one can put into question one’s own conviction and grant oneself a luxury that is more and more scary: that of changing.”
