	MID-AUGUST LUNCH
	Even thought he is a middle-aged man, Gianni lives in an old house in the center of Rome with his mother, who is demanding and leaves him only enough free time for the local pub. On the eve of the August 15 national holiday, the building superintendent, offers a solution for Gianni’s economic problems—Gianni is to take care of the superintendent’s mother for a couple of days in exchange for forgiving the condominium fees. When the superintendent shows up not only with his mother but also his old aunt, Gianni complains of feeling bad. His doctor makes a house call, and he, too, entrusts Gianni with his elderly mother for the August 15th lunch.
